It&#8217;s supposed to be very good for gut flora, which, according to Science, is not just about digestion, but important to your immune system as well. I started by just drinking it by the cupful as a snack, however, the plain stuff that I use (all the flavored varieties contain lots of added sugar&#8230; just like any other flavored yogurt) is a little bit of an acquired taste. \u00a0Around the same time, our old blender died and I bought a new one. So, I wanted to see how it worked for making smoothies. This is the recipe I came up with&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>1 cup plain Kefir<br \/>\n3\/4 cup Silk unsweetened coconut milk (bonus- contains <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/11880549\" target=\"_blank\">Medium Chain Triglycerides<\/a>)<br \/>\n1 cup frozen fruit- whatever is in the freezer, usually includes some blueberries<br \/>\n1 scoop <a href=\"http:\/\/www.purecleanpowder.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pure Clean Powder<\/a>\u00a0(I am a strong believer in the ergogenic effects of beet root juice)<br \/>\n1 tablespoon of almond butter<br \/>\n1 tablespoon of honey<\/p>\n<p>Blend &#8217;til smooth. You could add and subtract whatever you please. For example, if you want a heartier meal replacement, you could add protein powder and\/or some raw oatmeal.\u00a0I drink it just about every day, either an hour or so before or just after a workout.
