Audience Polling

I can’t make up my mind:

Cohutta 100- rigid w/an Ardent 2.4 front tire (lighter, a little faster uphill, makes me look like a badass) or SID WC suspension fork w/an Ignitor (~1.5 pounds heavier, but a little faster downhill)?

Comment here or on FB/Twitter. Whichever has the most votes is what I’ll do this weekend…

  1. You’ll gain more time on your enemies with the uphills. Downhills are a great neutralizer. Any chance of losing control with that rigid fork and impaling yourself on a tree?

  2. You’re already a well known Badass! Go rigid. Adding not only the heavier tire but a shock (although a great one) will add another pound or two no? Either way, good luck and have fun!

  3. Rigid. I personally go sus, but if youre faster for more of the time rigid, sounds like the way to go for you

  4. Rigid fo’ shiz! You don’t want to carry around all that weight in the front for miles upon miles of fire roads! Plus the descents are sketch anyway, at least they were last year with all that fresh gravel. I agree with Gary, you’ll kill your competition on the uphills anyway. GOOD LUCK!!

  5. I would have to agree with themajority so far. Ridge at Cohutta. I don’t recall many of the downhills being all that rooty or rocky. But then again I did have a suspension fork.

  6. What Bill said. Personally, I would go with the suspension fork, but I am a candy-ass. You are not, so you must go rigid, FTW!

  7. Don’t listen to these people. Races are won on the downhills. If you ride rigid in the woods, nobody hears it. Suspension all the way. Screw it – race the Jet RDO and take the overall win!
